Yabatech Students
Following the death of Charity Dazan, HND II student of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) in wee hours on Wednesday and the subsequent violent protest by students of the institution, the school management have suspended academic activities.
The protesting students blamed the death of Charity Dazan on the poor state of the college’s medical centre and the refusal of officials to attend to her.
One of the students who spoke with Greennews.ng said the late student fell sick and was rushed to the Medical centre. But the Medical centre did not have the resources needed so she was transferred to another clinic outside the school premises where she was later pronounced dead.
When Greennews.ng’s correspondent visited the campus, students were seen stranded with their luggage and other belongings. Some were still in shock due to the unfolding violence and the vacation order by the school management.
Policemen were also on ground to enforce the order and restore peace to the troubled campus.
Effort by our correspondent to speak with the school management proved abortive as top officials declined comment.
