A Saudi Arabia based telecommunications company, which wanted to identify with the brand of Real Madrid’s star striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, reportedly paid a whopping N417m to the player for pictures from a single photoshoot.
According to The Sun UK, quoting a document released by Football Leaks, Ronaldo was paid the humongous amount of money for just a day’s work way back in 2012 by Saudi Arabian telecoms giant Mobily.
The leaked contract, the tabloid reports, involves the Portuguese superstar’s image rights company MIM doing a deal with Mobily.
All Ronaldo did to earn the huge cash was to sign five Portugal shirts, put up two social media posts, and take few pictures in a photoshoot.
Ronaldo — who scored his 12th goal of the season as Real Madrid beat Romalast night — was to receive 60 per cent of the cash immediately, and the rest afterwards.
Interestingly, although Mobily forked out such huge amount of money, it was prohibited from using any image or reference to the Spanish club (Real Madrid) in their deal.
