Students of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) are currently protesting over the death of a colleague.
One of the students who spoke with Greennews.ngconfirmed the protest, according to her, the late student fell sick and was rushed to the Medical centre. But the Medical centre did not have the resources needed so she was transferred to another clinic outside the school premises which requested N35, 000 before attending to her.
The late student is a final year student of OTM office technology and management HND 2, and even a distinction student. The students have now barricaded the school’s gate as nobody is allowed to enter or exit the Institution. Greennews. ng gathered that the student died Wednesday morning, just two weeks before her final examinations.
The Management of the Institution was said to be in a crucial meeting that is expected to run until 5 pm and none of the staff at the medical centre is around to share their own part of the story.
